It is the renter’s responsibility to report any damage to your host as soon as possible. You must record all details and take photos of the damage. evee will capture your security deposit for minor damages and charge the full damage liability for major accidents. You must promptly pay the full damage liability specified for your rental vehicle. If it's been concluded that you are not at fault, any balance is refundable to you.
evee will contact you to initiate our assessment of the damage. If you have any photos/videos of before and after that could be useful, please send those through as well. We strive to make this process as fair as possible as we mediate between you and your host.
As a neutral party, we assess this damage incident as a third-party, external to the incident, to determine who is liable. While each side may have a reasonable story, statements from you, your host, and anyone involved cannot be considered as evidence or fact due to the potential bias. However, from the statements, we will only accept what can be considered factual to help provide context to the situation.
Your host is required to acquire a quote(s) so that evee may assess the extent of the damage. Once the assessment is made, we will recommend which repairer to go with and if you and your host agree, they will book it in for repairs.
The cost of repairs will be deducted/charged from your account up to the amount of damage liability (or in full if you breach any of the rental terms). Card processing and admin fees may be applicable. Any applicable balance will be refunded to you upon completion of the repairs or the settlement of the claim.
A claim may also be applicable if the cost of repairs is significantly high. In which case, we will ask you to assist us filling out a claim. Please read "Vehicle Accident & Claim" on how to do this.
