Fair Wear and Tear includes:

0-1 yo cars

• Minor dents and deformations to the underbody as long as it does not cause major corrosion.

1+ yo cars includes above condition plus:

• Dents of no more than 20 mm in diameter to any panel where the paint has not been broken, no paint loss, or paint cracking or flaking and the metal not exposed.

Fair Wear and Tear excludes:

0-1 yo cars:

• Dents of any diameter on bonnets, roofs, wheel arches, style lines, door sills or door edges, crease of panels;
• Multiple dents within a specific local area regardless of size; or
• Any damage affecting or penetrating the paintwork
• Hail damage
• Broken bumpers that are cracked, split, bent, twisted, misaligned, gouged.

1+ yo cars includes above condition(s) plus:

• Dents greater than 20 mm in diameter;

• Any stone chip that has not penetrated down to the metal.

0-1 yo cars includes ‘All cars’ condition plus:

• Small amount of stone chips (no more than 5) per panel (especially bonnet, lower doors, wheel guards) less than 1 mm in diameter.

1+ yo cars includes ‘All cars’ condition plus:

• No more than 5 per panel and no more than 2 mm in diameter

Fair Wear and Tear excludes:

• More than new 5 stone chips to an isolated area that have penetrated down to the base metal.

• Scratches greater than 25 mm in length and more than 1 mm wide.

On bumper: 

• light scuffing or scratches where there is no paint penetration; and
• can be polished out;

Under Bumper Lip: Scratches/Scrapes under the front bumper lip no more than 50 mm in length.

Fair Wear and Tear excludes

All Cars:

• any broken/cracked paint;
• Broken, cracked, deformed, buckling, misaligned bumper;
• Large number (more than 5) of scratches of any size that cover quarter of the bumper;
• dents of 25 mm in length or more in diameter;
• any damage to a textured bumper; 
• more than new 5 stone chips to an isolated area; and
• Stone chipping down to the metal and larger than 3 mm.

1+ yo cars includes:

• Under Bumper Lip: Scratches/Scrapes under the front bumper lip no more than 50 mm in length.

Fair Wear and Tear includes:

Rims:

• Light scratches and scuffing up due to everyday use up to 20 mm in length;
  • Must not be down to the rim alloy.

Tyres:

• Scratches/Scuffing to wheel side wall of any length
  • Must not have punctured the sidewall.
• Tyre punctures are acceptable if a tyre repair kit can fix it.

Hub caps:

• Light scratches/scuffing to wheel hubcaps of no more than 25 mm length or diameter;
  • No more than 2 per hub cap

Fair Wear and Tear excludes:

• Wheel trims or hubcaps that are cracked, broken, missing, mismatched or not the original wheel trim or hubcap;
• Alloy rims that are cracked, buckled, gouged or mismatched or not the original rim;
• Alloy rims if:
  • scuff mark is more than 20 mm in length;
  • the alloy rim is cracked, buckled or gouged ; or
  • the alloy rim is mismatched or not the rim as originally supplied;
• Tyre tread and sidewall damage so that the tyre is unroadworthy e.g. cuts, bulges, gouges and abrasions, tyre misuse e.g. flat spots and burnouts;
• Replacement tyres that differ from those originally supplied.

Fair Wear and Tear includes:

All cars:

• Light scratches, minor chips, bullseyes and stars in the primary or critical vision area.
  • Must be under 2mm length or diameter.
  • Can be filled with resin.

Fair Wear and Tear excludes:

All cars:

• Any cracks and holes of any length that may affect the roadworthy status of the vehicle and may subsequently worsen over time from the vehicle continuing to be driven.

• Cracks that are in the driver's critical and primary field of vision.

Fair Wear and Tear includes:

All cars:

• Light marks that can be removed by vacuum or general cleaning;
• Light scuffing or smears or regular day to day debris that is removable by general cleaning.

Fair Wear and Tear excludes:

All cars:

• Any permanent damage caused by harsh or corrosive materials;
• Tears, cuts, scratches, holes or burns;
• Any damage to the structure, shape or positioning of a seat;
• Hair from pets;
• Excessive oil, grease, soil, mud or sand (other than from regular day to day use);
• Evidence of smoking in the vehicle;
• Odours or foreign matter; stains or marks that cannot be removed by general cleaning or require steam cleaning.
• Cracks and deep scratches more than 4 mm on touchscreen/infotainment system.

Fair Wear and Tear includes:

All cars:

• Minor cosmetic damage that does not in any way affect the functionality of the keys, accessories or equipment

Fair Wear and Tear excludes:

All cars:

• Any Loss or damage to keys or remotes;
• Damage caused by incorrect fitting of accessories (such as snow chains, roof racks);
• Damage to aerials and antennae;
• Removal or damage to any item supplied with the vehicle (shelving, tools, spare tyres, wheel trims, tyre repair kit, first aid kits, GPS unit, and etc.)
• Damage to the portable/mobile charger such that it can not be used to charge the car or cannot provide charge to the car.
• Damage to the charge port such that charging cannot occur.
