How do I start hosting on evee?
The first step to becoming a host and sharing your car with others is to create an evee account and vehicle listing page. Once your listing is live, you’ll be able to receive booking requests but before you can accept the first one, you’ll need to make sure you’ve changed over to evee’s insurance (request an insurance quote here).
Why do I need to change insurance?
Our comprehensive commercial insurance policy covers not only for personal use but for renting out your car too - most private policies don’t include this car sharing component. The good news is once you sign up to evee’s insurance you can cancel your own, plus you’ll quickly make back the difference after your first few bookings!
How much money can I expect to make?
On average, cars are rented out 10 days per month and you take home 65% of earnings. Some of our highest performers are earning up to $24,000 a year in major cities.
What if a renter damages the car?
Provided there are photos of the car from before and after the rental to show the preexisting condition, renters are totally liable for any damage that occurs whilst it is in their possession. Minor damage (e.g. curb rash) can be resolved directly with the renter via our extra payment feature. Anything more significant should be reported to support@evee.com.au and we’ll assist you with our standard damage procedure.
What if the renter uses a toll road or charging station?
You can charge out any additional costs incurred during the rental period (including toll and charging fees) as an extra payment to the renter.
What if the renter gets a traffic infringement?
Please email support@evee.com.au with a copy of the traffic infringement and we will provide the necessary details to transfer the fine to the renter.
What if there’s an emergency?
If there’s an emergency while your car is on rent and you need support from evee, please contact our emergency line (02) 5564 0003.
