What is evee?
evee is an all electric car sharing platform, where you rent electric cars directly from the people that own them. We have the largest fleet of EVs available to rent in Australia and everything is backed by comprehensive insurance coverage.
What do I need to book a car on evee?
To rent an electric car on the platform, you’ll need to be 25 years or older, create an account, verify your driver’s licence, and complete an insurance declaration (which can all be done beforehand or as you go through checkout for the first time). Once we have this information, you won’t have to worry about entering it again for future trips.
I’ve never driven an electric vehicle before - how do I charge it?
If this is your first time in an EV, don’t worry! When you pick up the car from the owner, they’ll go over any different features and explain how to charge it. During your rental, you can also ask them questions via chat, or contact one of our support team at support@evee.com.au
Can I get the car delivered to me?
Yes, some of our hosts offer airport delivery (or delivery to a personal address) for an additional fee. Please check the vehicle listing page to see if the host delivers to your location. Skip the queues and have your car delivered for pickup and dropoff to save time on your trip.
Is insurance included?
Insurance is already included in your rental price, so you don’t have to purchase it. You can choose to add on RentalCover to bring your excess down to $0, otherwise you will be liable up to the damage liability amount which varies depending on vehicle type. An excess reduction add on is great for protection against things such as parking damage and wheel scrapes.
What if I damage the car?
If damage occurs during your rental, evee will capture your security deposit for minor damages and charge the full damage liability amount for major accidents while we determine liability and repair costs. Any remaining balance will be refunded to you at the end of the assessment.
Can I add drivers to my booking?
Yes, you absolutely can share the experience and let your friends or family drive the car too, so long as they’re added to your booking and properly approved. They’ll be required to create their own evee account, upload a driver’s licence for verification, and complete a driver declaration via the Personal info accounts page.
What is evee’s cancellation policy?
You can cancel and get a full refund up to 72 hours before your trip starts. If you cancel between 72 hours and 48 hours before the start of the rental period, you will be charged 50% of the total fees plus any merchant banking/transaction fees and the remaining balance will be refunded to you. Any cancellation made less than 48 hours before the start of the rental period will not be entitled to any refund.
Do you have any discounts?
Some of our hosts have multi-day discounts enabled, where the longer your trip is, the more you’ll be rewarded (save up to 30% off). Or sign up to our newsletter to be the first to know about special offers!
What if there’s an emergency?
During your rental, if you have an emergency such as being involved in an accident or the battery running out, please contact your host or our emergency number (02) 5564 0003.
